Everything you need to know about Runzo — for restaurants, customers, and the technology behind it.
Questions about how ASKZO works, what it automates, and how to control it?
What is Runzo?
Runzo is a full restaurant operating system and food ordering platform. For restaurants, it replaces third-party delivery commissions, leading accounting tools, payroll services, review management, email marketing, and more with a single $499/month subscription. For customers, it's a way to order food at the restaurant's actual menu price — no markups, no inflated fees.
How is Runzo different from major delivery platforms?
Leading delivery apps charge restaurants 20–30% commission on every order, which restaurants pass back to customers as marked-up prices. Runzo charges restaurants a flat monthly fee and zero commission — so customers pay the real menu price plus a $1 platform fee. The restaurant keeps more, the customer pays less.
Is Runzo available in my city?
Runzo is actively onboarding restaurants across the US. The platform and catering marketplace are available now. Runzo-managed delivery is expanding city by city. Check customers.runzo.ai or contact us to see coverage in your area.
Who is Runzo for?
Three groups: restaurants who want to stop paying commissions and run everything from one platform; customers who want honest food pricing and smarter catering planning; and drivers who want stable, fairly-paid delivery work without the gig-economy fine print.
How much does it cost to order on Runzo?
You pay the restaurant's real menu price plus a flat $1 platform fee and the actual delivery cost (which goes directly to your driver). There are no service fees, no small-order fees, and no restaurant markups to cover commissions — because there are no commissions.
What's the difference between Instant Order, Direct Catering, and Catering Bids?
Instant Order is for everyday meals — browse, add to cart, pay. Direct Catering is for events where you know what you want: pick from a restaurant's catering menu, choose tray sizes, order. Catering Bids is for larger events where you want restaurants to compete on price — post your requirements and compare quotes. Full details on the Customers page.
What are Gatherings?
Gatherings is Runzo's event planning feature. Create an event, invite guests, and track RSVPs in real time. When you link a Gathering to a catering order, the food quantities automatically adjust as RSVPs come in — so the restaurant always preps for the actual confirmed headcount, not your best estimate.
What is ASKZO and how does it help me as a customer?
ASKZO is Runzo's AI. For customers, it curates complete catering menus based on your event details — guest count, cuisine, dietary needs, budget — calculates the right tray sizes, and can place or post the order for you. See the full ASKZO breakdown at runzo.ai/askzo.
Do I need an account to order?
You need a free Runzo account to place orders and use Gatherings. Creating an account takes under 2 minutes. Guest RSVP links work without an account — your guests can RSVP directly from the link you send them.
How much does Runzo cost for restaurants?
$499/month per location. That's it. No commission on orders, no per-transaction fees, no add-on charges for individual features. Every module — online ordering, catering, ASKZO, finance, HR, payroll, marketing, loyalty — is included.
Can I keep my existing delivery setup while I try Runzo?
Yes. Runzo doesn't require exclusivity. Many restaurants run Runzo alongside their existing delivery app presence while they transition. The ROI calculator on our pricing page will show you exactly when Runzo pays for itself.
What does ASKZO actually automate for my restaurant?
Catering quotes, Google review responses, email campaigns, social media ads, finance monitoring, scheduling alerts — ASKZO handles all of it automatically. You can run it in auto-pilot or approval mode. Full breakdown at runzo.ai/askzo.
How does the catering marketplace work?
Customers post catering requests with their event details. ASKZO matches the request to restaurants based on cuisine, capacity, location, and past performance. Your restaurant can respond manually or let ASKZO auto-submit a quote. The restaurant that best fits the brief and price wins the booking.
Does Runzo handle delivery for catering orders?
Yes. Runzo operates its own delivery network. For catering deliveries, you can use Runzo drivers or fulfill with your own team. The driver bidding feature (coming soon) will let customers choose their preferred driver for large catering deliveries.
Is there a contract or minimum commitment?
No contract, no minimum commitment. Cancel anytime. We offer a free trial so you can verify the ROI before you pay anything.
What's included in the $499/month plan?
Everything: online ordering (zero commission), catering marketplace, table reservations, Runzo delivery network, ASKZO AI (all features), finance tracking with bank integration, payroll, staff scheduling, time tracking, RepZO, customer loyalty program, AI email marketing, and AI social media ad management.
Are there any additional fees?
The $499 is your only recurring fee. Delivery fees are paid by customers and go directly to drivers. Ad spend for AI-managed campaigns is billed separately at your set budget (you control the limit). There are no per-order fees, no transaction fees, and no feature unlocks.
Is there a free trial?
Yes. Start your free trial — no credit card required. You get full access to the platform to verify it works for your restaurant before paying anything.
Do you offer discounts for multiple locations?
